Ryse: Son of Rome
Ryse: Son of Rome is a simple third person slasher RPG. This game is visually gorgeous and has an amazing game engine with fluid controls with a simple story and character development. One thing about this game is that it isn't trying to be anything more than what it is. Which I find very refreshing with today's games and the rising of the next gen consoles every company is trying to make the next great video game revolution. As enjoyable as these video game revolutions are it is become to much of the norm and is losing if not already lost the appeal to these new game features. Which brings me back to the beauty of this game. It is simple and fun and gives you a very pretty visual experience. Crytek has mastered visual near visual perfection in their game and can truly take pride in that. Despite my praises though this game does have its issues. Its game-play is extremely simple and I cannot stress to you how simple it is, to the point where it is almost boring. Ryse is a title that is excellent for beginners but doesn't pose a challenge like most other RPG's making it a bit disappointing because of all the hype it was given as a launch title. With Ryse 2 being announced recently it gives me some hope that the controls will be thought out more and more challenges given to the more experienced gamer's. I give Ryse an 8 out of 10 and hope that those who have yet to play it give it a chance like I did. I was very skeptical at first but I enjoyed this game very much and I look forward to see what Crytek has in store for us yet.

Naruto: Storm Series
Naruto Shippudens storm series fighting game was most likely a money grab by Bandai that turned into one of the most successful fighters for anime themed games. The storm series unlike most fighters has simple controls making it easy for a newbie player to learn and understand the game quickly. Despite the game being a more underground title I believe it is a well developed game that keeps it's story mode on track with the manga. It has one of the most precise graphic engines I have ever seen that successfully provides a fluid motion to each characters signature moves. I give this game 4 stars for beautiful graphic motion and story accuracy but it falls short in its originality. I would like to see fighters like this in the future with original characters and story. I suggest if you enjoy naruto, anime or fighters, simple as it may be, you purchase a copy.

Dark Souls 2 ~GavlanDeals
Dark Souls 2. The long anticipated sequel to the hit 2011 multi-platform, Dark Souls. I like this game because the combat is "difficult," technical, punishing, and rewarding. The boss fights are as fun as they are challenging. The art, weapon designs, armor designs, and monster designs are all fresh but nostalgic at the same time. The multiplayer is innovative just like the rest of the Souls games the players have been used to as well. The story goes that you are cursed with the mark of the undead, and it is your fate to stop it. You must face and overcome many grueling challenges along the way. I won't say in particular what you must face since not everyone's got a chance to play it yet, but let me just say, it is difficult.
So difficult, I found the game to be frustratingly hard at times and I've been a Souls nut for a whole year! After you beat the game you also have many options to choose from with Player vs Player. There are also plenty of trophies/achievements that take time and dedication for those completionists out there as well!
They could have improved a few things about the game. One example is the online servers, sometimes if you're fightinging someone they can attack you from twenty feet away and you will have no idea why. Other times you will try to summon a friend for help but for some reason it keeps giving you errors. But I am sure those will be fixed eventually, so there is really nothing to worry about. I don't let that stop me from having a good time, though; I can't stop playing it!
I will be giving this game a solid 8/10. The reason I took two points off was because of the occasional online issues and the story seemed a little wonky to me. Other than that, great game!
On a closing note, I really *REALLY* hope to see some DLC that was as good if not better than Artorias of the Abyss. I know some people don't believe in DLC and that "they should have just taken an extra few months on the game," but DLC is good for our favorite video game developers. Thanks for reading, and be sure to pick up Dark Souls 2! Coming to PC on April 25th!

The Shadow of the Colossus - KR3X
Shadow of the Colossus is a game we all know from the early days of our child hood on the Playstation 2. If you aren't aware of this title than you are in for a treat, Developed by Team Ico, a small time Japanese studio, Shadow of the Colossus takes a hold of something that most game developers have missed, immense thought into the infamous boss fight of a game. Team Ico was years ahead of its time and Shadow of the Colossus was their prophecy. This game is focused solely on environment, and the boss fights. The story synapses is you, the main male protagonist, have come to a forbidden temple where you place your deceased lover on a pedestal. Soon after you hear a voice that promises you that if you slay 16 Colossus your lover will be brought back to life. The game immediately puts you into action and with your mystical compass sword and you set out on your trusty steed Agro for the first Colossus. Everyone of them is a work of art in of itself. Once they are presented they give you a full sense of awe and terror. Each Colossus like all boss battle has 1 or 2 sweet spots where you can inflict damage on them. Due to the size of the larger Colossus they are often slower and their attacks slower. Every battle forces use to use their own movements and the environment to your advantage and give you the edge over the mighty beasts and allow your character to scale their large bodies to inflict damage on their sweet spots. Because of their immense size every defeated Colossus gives you a sense of satisfaction and progress which cannot be said for most titles today. I give this game a 5 out of 5 for uniqueness and well thought out design. I suggest you go out and get a copy or download the HD remake off the PS3 and experience the adventure yourself.
